'Family' nite in L.A.

Following a tour from the Governors Ball in the L.A. Convention Center, fans from the Emmy on Sept. 18 trekked towards the Off-shore Designer Center, which Cinemax had changed into a tropical-designed paradise. At Fig & Olive, the Fox party required on the design of a household gathering -- a large family gathering -- because the "Modern Family" and "Glee" clans required center stage. Comedy Central's party at Colony was filled with old buddies in T-t shirts and not so many ladies in evening gowns. "This can be a party filled with comedy brainiacs," described "The Daily Show's" Wyatt Cenac, Emmy in hands. "It isn't the most sexy party." Contact Variety Staff at news@variety.com
